Complex and time-consuming procedures
Entrepreneurs considering installing a wind turbine on their business premises often face a number of complex challenges. A successful wind energy project is an investment that can yield significant returns, provided there is specialist knowledge and a well-thought-out plan. This is because implementing a wind turbine project is a complex undertaking. Not every site is suitable, obtaining planning permission is time-consuming, and choosing the right turbine determines the return on investment. In addition, financial risks and project coordination play a major role.
A two-stage rocket gets the job done.
At Encon, we follow a tried-and-tested two-phase project approach: the pre-permit phase and the post-permit phase.
- Pre-permit phase: as part of the site scan, we assess the site against more than 25 parameters, such as local wind conditions, environmental constraints and regulatory requirements. During the feasibility study, we analyse technical, financial and planning permission-related aspects, hold informal discussions with the relevant authorities and optimise the project to maximise its chances of success. Based on the feasibility study, we compile the full planning application, including site plans, environmental studies, communication campaigns and all required documents. Encon monitors the planning permission process through to approval.
- Post-permit phase: we select the appropriate wind turbine type(s), taking into account local wind conditions, efficiency and technical parameters as set out in the optimisation study. We then oversee the tendering process, during which bespoke tender documents are compared, negotiated and awarded to the most cost-effective and high-quality supplier. Finally, Encon coordinates the implementation from start to finish: from foundations and infrastructure to installation, electrical connection, commissioning and the testing phase. Throughout the entire process, we monitor the schedule, budget and quality, and act as the central point of contact for all parties.
