The ripple effect of sustainability
Encon’s launch in 2002 was no fairy tale: as a co-founder, Robin Bruninx even had to borrow his €1,700 in start-up capital. Twenty years on, the Limburg-based energy consultancy, which now employs almost 100 people, can present some impressive figures: €265 million in energy costs saved for clients, 40 million m² of solar energy projects realised in collaboration with Encon Nederland, and €2.3 billion in funding secured to make buildings more sustainable. “At the moment, everything that’s good for the world is also good for businesses. Surely that can only be a positive thing?”
