Energy Solutions Group develops and manages sustainable energy infrastructure, including solar and wind farms, battery storage systems and fast-charging stations. By doing so, the company actively contributes to accelerating the energy transition and reducing CO₂ emissions.
As the company expanded rapidly, it attracted new investors and financial partners, including Patronale Life, a CSRD-subject entity required to report reliable ESG data. Sustainability therefore evolved from a strategic ambition into a financial necessity. Without accurate ESG data, investor confidence is difficult to maintain, and without confidence, access to capital becomes increasingly challenging.
Internally, however, sustainability information was scattered across multiple departments, with no centralised system or validation process in place. The manager responsible for ESG reporting had limited visibility into the reliability of the data being provided, creating risks for investors and uncertainty for management. At the same time, it remained unclear which sustainability topics should be prioritised in the future. Which disclosures would become mandatory? What were investors and banks expecting? And where could ESG initiatives create the greatest business value?
A strategic roadmap, validated data and a cost-efficient reporting approach
We first helped Energy Solutions Group gain clarity on its sustainability priorities. Through stakeholder engagement, a double materiality assessment, and a comprehensive risk and opportunity analysis, we developed a clear roadmap to guide the company’s ESG strategy.
Next, we established a structured data collection process, including clear responsibilities, governance mechanisms and reporting deadlines, aligned with both VSME guidelines and investor requirements.
In parallel, we are developing a professional sustainability report for the 2025 reporting year. While not subject to full CSRD requirements, the report is based on relevant CSRD KPIs and translated into a VSME-compliant framework. Thanks to its digital and fully editable format, the organisation is expected to reduce future reporting costs by between €92,000 and €113,000 over a five-year period, while still meeting the information needs of banks, investors and other stakeholders.
Finally, we are supporting the implementation of a carbon footprint methodology, enabling Energy Solutions Group to measure and report greenhouse gas emissions accurately and consistently on an annual basis.
Investor confidence and a future-proof ESG foundation
Today, Energy Solutions Group has a mature, scalable and reliable ESG framework that supports both strategic decision-making and external reporting requirements.
The validation and structuring of ESG data have strengthened confidence among Patronale Life and other financial partners. Management can now make faster and better-informed decisions because sustainability priorities, risks and opportunities are clearly defined.
The sustainability report serves not only as a professional communication tool but also as a cost-efficient reporting framework that will support the organisation for years to come. Combined with robust ESG governance and reliable sustainability data, Energy Solutions Group now has a strong foundation for future growth, investor engagement and regulatory compliance.
